5 Nonfiction Recs From a YA Fantasy Lover: this is me attempting to branch out

This post is kind of messy. It was weirdly difficult to format, considering it shouldn’t have been hard at all. Anyways, I’ve been trying to read more nonfiction because as much as I love it I don’t think I can only read YA fantasy forever. I don’t mean to say that there’s anything wrong with only reading YA fantasy—I just find myself getting bored of late. I still love it!!! And still read so much of it!!! I just need to read something else in between. I’ve also become a bit of a history nerd of late, so nonfiction here we come.

Recommending Books Based Off My Spotify Shuffle

Hi guys!! This is kind of random but I thought it’d be fun. I’ve been enjoying making book playlists lately (pro🙌cras🙌tin🙌nat🙌tion🙌), and this is basically just the reverse of that. I pretty much just put my liked songs on shuffle and used the first five.

Also, I HATE THE SPOTIFY WIDGET. Sorry, but, just, IT’S SO FREAKING CLUNKY. It made me want to throw my (school!) laptop across the room. Anyways, on to the actual recommendations.

PAIRING MY CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS WITH BOOKS [happy *belated* holidays everyone!!]

I was going to post this on Christmas Eve but I guess I forgot to hit schedule? It’s posted now at any rate (obviously).

IN HONOR OF THE NOTORIOUS RBG // fiercely feminist book recs

“My most fervent wish is that I not be replaced until a new president is installed.”

She is? was? one of my heroes😭😭😭 Rest in power Ruth Bader Ginsburg. I haven’t cried… yet. But every time I think about it, and read about the memorials, I think I might. She will never win another groundbreaking case, or write another powerful dissent, but her words and legacy will live forever in our memory, in our laws, in the very fabric of our society👑

My Favorite Re-Re-Re-Reads

You know those books that you love so much you can reread them constantly without getting bored? The books that you’ve read so many times you can recite many a scene verbatim, the books where you know the characters like your own family, and the plot like it was your own life? The books that despite your intimate knowledge of them are still wonderful and exciting every time you read them? Well that’s what I’m going to be talking about today.

My favorite books for rereading are not necessarily books I’ve rated 5 stars, or books I think are all that groundbreaking. They are the ones with the characters I love, and the witty comebacks. These are the books full of the worlds I want to visit, and the people I want to meet. These are the books that continue to make me smile no matter how often I read them.
